Privacy Policy

We keep our data practices short, honest, and easy to act on. This page explains exactly what we collect when you visit seoservicesutah.us or work with us as a client — and the choices you have over that information.

Effective date: January 15, 2026

Last updated: January 15, 2026

This policy applies to SEO Services Utah (“we,” “us,” “our”), a Utah-based search engine optimization consultancy operating at seoservicesutah.us.

Introduction

Trust is the foundation of every SEO engagement we take on. Because we ask clients to share access to analytics, ad accounts and content management systems, we believe you deserve a straightforward account of how we handle your data — not legalese buried in fine print. The sections below describe the specific types of information we collect, the reasons we collect each one, how long we keep it, and the choices you have at any time. If you have a question this page does not answer, email hello@seoservicesutah.us and a real person on our team will reply.

1. Who we are

SEO Services Utah is an independent, founder-led SEO agency headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. We provide local SEO, technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, link building and AI search optimization (AEO/GEO) to businesses across the Wasatch Front and the wider United States. We are the data controller for personal information collected through our website and in the course of delivering services to our clients.

2. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy covers information collected through: (a) our public website at seoservicesutah.us and its subpages; (b) contact and audit-request forms; (c) email, phone and video calls initiated by you or our team; and (d) client-facing tools we use to deliver SEO work, such as reporting dashboards and shared documents. It does not cover the independent privacy practices of third-party websites, search engines, or platforms we may link to or integrate with — those are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.

3. Information we collect

We collect only the information we need to answer inquiries, deliver SEO services, improve our website and meet our legal obligations. In practice, that falls into three buckets.

3.1 Information you provide directly

When you request a free SEO audit, submit a contact form or email us, we receive the information you choose to share. This typically includes your name, business name, email address, phone number, website URL and a short description of your goals or current challenges. If you become a client, we may additionally collect billing details, a mailing address for invoicing, and delegated (read or write) access to platforms such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile, Bing Webmaster Tools, and your content management system.

3.2 Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers and analytics tools automatically receive certain technical information when you browse the site. This includes your IP address (in truncated or anonymized form where supported), device and browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time spent on each page, and approximate geographic region derived from your IP. We use this data in aggregate to understand which pages are useful, diagnose site errors and improve performance — not to identify individual visitors.

3.3 Information from third parties

When you become a client and grant us access to your marketing platforms, we receive data those platforms return to us: search queries, rankings, click-through rates, backlink profiles, page speed metrics, conversion counts, and similar performance signals. We treat this data as confidential and use it solely to perform the services you have engaged us for.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal data such as government identifiers, health information, precise location, biometric data, or information about political or religious views. Please do not share information of that nature with us through our forms or email.

4. How we use your information

We use the information described above for a specific, limited set of purposes:

  • Responding to audit requests, quotes, and general inquiries you send us.
  • Delivering the SEO services outlined in your engagement letter or statement of work.
  • Producing monthly performance reports and communicating recommendations.
  • Invoicing, collecting payment, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Improving our website copy, navigation and page speed based on aggregate analytics.
  • Sending occasional service updates or educational emails you have opted in to receive — never rented or sold lists.
  • Meeting legal, tax and accounting obligations under United States and Utah law.
  • Detecting, investigating and preventing fraudulent, abusive or unlawful activity.

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Where required by law, we rely on one of the following bases to process your personal information: (a) your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; (b) the performance of a contract you have entered into with us; (c) compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject; or (d) our legitimate interests in running, protecting and improving our business, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses a small number of first-party cookies and local storage entries that are strictly necessary for the site to function — for example, remembering that you have dismissed a banner or preserving form input if you navigate away. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics cookies to measure aggregate traffic patterns. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so will not prevent you from reading the site, though some conveniences may not work as expected.

7. Analytics and advertising tools

We may use third-party analytics providers such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console and comparable server-side or privacy-focused alternatives to understand how visitors find and use our site. These tools receive limited technical data (see section 3.2) and are configured to anonymize IP addresses where the provider supports it. We do not run cross-site behavioral advertising, and we do not build or sell personal profiles based on your visit.

If you would prefer that Google Analytics not measure your visit, you can install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available from Google.

8. How we share information

We share personal information only in the narrow circumstances listed below, and only with providers who are contractually bound to protect it:

  • Service providers that help us operate the business — for example, email delivery, hosting, reporting dashboards, accounting software and payment processors.
  • Professional advisors such as our accountants or legal counsel, when necessary to obtain their advice or defend our rights.
  • Authorities when we are required to disclose information by a valid legal process, subpoena, court order, or to protect the safety of any person.
  • Successors in interest in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets — in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

9. How long we keep data

We keep personal information only for as long as we have a legitimate reason to do so. Inquiries from prospects that do not become clients are typically deleted or anonymized within 24 months. Active client records are retained for the duration of the engagement and for a reasonable period afterward to answer follow-up questions, meet tax and accounting requirements, and defend potential legal claims — typically no longer than seven years. Aggregate analytics data that cannot be linked back to an individual may be retained indefinitely to observe long-term trends.

10. How we protect your data

We take the security of your information seriously. Our safeguards include encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) across the site, encryption of data at rest on reputable cloud infrastructure, strong unique passwords with multi-factor authentication on every business-critical account, least-privilege access controls for team members, and prompt revocation of platform access at the end of an engagement. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continually to align our practices with recognized industry standards.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights over the personal information we hold about you. These commonly include the right to:

  • Request confirmation of whether we process your data, and a copy of that data.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information when we no longer have a valid reason to keep it.
  • Object to, or request restriction of, certain types of processing.
  • Withdraw a consent you previously gave, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority or, in the United States, your state attorney general.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@seoservicesutah.us with the subject line “Privacy request.” We will verify your identity (typically by confirming details already on file) and respond within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

12. Children’s privacy

Our services are directed to business owners and marketing decision-makers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. International visitors

Our website and offices are located in the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the site or contacting us, you consent to that transfer.

Our site may link to third-party websites, tools, or resources for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any site you visit through a link from ours.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, legal requirements or business practices. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and — for material changes — provide a more prominent notice on the site or by email where appropriate. Continued use of our website or services after an update means you accept the revised policy.

16. Contact us

Questions, feedback, or a formal privacy request? We’d rather hear from you than have you wonder.
